This course is designed to enhance the academic reading skills of college and university students. It covers essential techniques for understanding and analyzing academic texts, identifying main ideas and supporting details, making inferences, and improving reading speed and comprehension. Students will learn to recognize the author’s purpose, evaluate arguments, identify bias, and effectively summarize and paraphrase texts. The course also includes strategies for note-taking, using graphic organizers, and preparing for academic exams. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the skills needed to excel in their academic reading assignments.
