Horticulture and landscape design are exciting fields that involve working with plants and creating beautiful outdoor spaces. Let’s learn about what these careers are all about!
What is Horticulture?
Horticulture is the science of growing plants. People who work in horticulture grow flowers, fruits, vegetables, and trees. They help plants to grow strong and healthy. Some jobs in horticulture include:
- Gardeners: Gardeners take care of plants in gardens, parks, and yards. They plant seeds, water plants, and make sure they get enough sunlight.
- Farmers: Farmers grow crops like corn and tomatoes. They use special tools and machines to help them grow food for us to eat.
- Floral Designers: Floral designers create beautiful flower arrangements for special events like weddings or birthdays. They know how to mix colors and choose the right flowers.
What is Landscape Design?
Landscape design is about planning and creating outdoor spaces. Landscape designers think about how to make yards, parks, and gardens look nice and work well. Here are some jobs in landscape design:
- Landscape Architects: These professionals design parks and public spaces. They think about where to place trees, paths, and benches so people can enjoy nature.
