SKILL 8: DONNING AND REMOVING PPE (GOWN AND GLOVES)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Face the back opening of the gown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Unfold the gown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Put arms into the sleeves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Secure the neck opening at the back of neck.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Secure the waist, making sure that the back flaps overlap each other and covering clothing as completely as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Put on gloves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Ensure the gloves overlap the gown sleeves at the wrist.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. When the care is complete and before leaving the room, remove the gloves BEFORE removing the gown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Remove the gloves, turning them inside out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Dispose of the gloves in the appropriate container.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. Perform hand hygiene.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  12. Unfasten the gown at the neck.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  13. Unfasten the gown at the waist.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  14. Remove the gown starting at the top of the shoulders, turning it inside out and folding the soiled area to soiled area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  15. Dispose of the gown in an appropriate container.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
